Thanks for that link Althea. :D
In NZ from 1851, she arrived as Elizabeth DAVIS, lots in Papers Past about her. :o
She married, 1851, John INNIS. Name on marriage entry in church register is Elizabeth Ann BALFOUR DAVIS.
She had four children in NZ, one INNIS others ENNIS.
She went to OZ, 1860 with 4 children. No husband.
She had 3 more children in OZ, ENNIS.
John divorced her in 1880. She then disapears from any known records and lists, totally lost. :-\
We're looking for her death, hopefully to find out her parent's names.
We don't have any official birth records, only that when she was baptised, as an adult, in NZ, 1853, she gave her birth date as 23 Jan, 1831.
On other documents she says she was born in London.
All this is on the other thread. I know there's a lot of reading there, ;D that's what happens with Tephra's Scavenger Hunts.
Leonie.
Opps, forgot the various other names;
Elizabeth Ann BALFOUR INNIS. Birth register of first child. 1852.
Elizabeth Annie BALFOUR ENNIS. On marriage cert of eldest daughter. 1873.
Ellinor * BALFOUR-DAVIS. On death cert of eldest daughter. 1948. * informant unknown.
Elizabeth DAVIES ENNIS. On birth cert. of second son. 1855.
Grace * BALFOUR DAVIS ENNIS. On marriage cert of first son. 1885 *informant son. on death cert 1943, informant great neice.

Hi all,
Following up on Althea's link :From the cemetery records, all for same plot at Invercargill’s Eastern Cemetery (General, block 10, plot 203)
(modified shortly after posting to adjust lines only)
ENNIS :
1878, birth of Agnes Mary, parents Elizabeth and William as per NZ BDM online
1883, death of William aged 46 years death 3 Nov, as per NZ BDM online, burial 6 Nov as per Cemetery
1889 death of Agnes Mary aged 11 years death 31 July as per NZ BDM online, burial 1 August as per Cemetery
1916, death of Elizabeth, 74 years death 31 March as per NZ BDM online, burial 4 April as per Cemetery, LAST ADDRESS for Elizabeth is listed on Cemetery records as NITH Street.
Have not found any NZ marriage Elizabeth to William ENNIS...
If this Elizabeth ENNIS was LoneyBones missing lass, Elizabeth Ann Balfour Davis, then is it likely that the William ENNIS was also known as William LARSON ?. Umm ... more questions
Cheers,
JM

I don't think this is my lot JM.
The William ENNIS who married Elizabeth WARD, is the only other William & Elizabeth. The dates don't fit, all children were born Bathurst, NSW. This generation all died in WA, next generation returned to NZ, but that really puts the dates out.

An obituary can be found at PapersPast for the William ENNIS who died in 1883. He left a widow and 6 or 7 children.
[He was prominent in debating circles .... and was also a Sunday school teacher. ] :D

OK, definitely not my lot then. ;D

Elizabeth Ennis who died in 1916 was Elizabeth Thompson.

Thank you Villagelass.
Do you know anything about her family?
Leonie.

Sorry LonelyBones for delay, away and home to computer crash; thankfully everything backed up as all contents sizzled up. Elizabeth Thompson was born born abt 1841 Collinstown, County westmeath. Her brother John was my gr grandfather
