Title: lilley/lilly cairncastle - larne
Post by: heatherp on Tuesday 26 January 10 06:32 GMT (UK)
Researching lilley/lilly in cairncastle to larne.  In particular George Lilley married 1924 to Martha Magill.  They had sons Robert John Lilley deceased and James Lilley.  Does any one know of this James Lilley?  He went to Carncastle primary School.

Welcome to Rootschat. We aren't allowed to post details of living people/possobly living people here so if anyone can help with recent family details they'll have to contact you by PM (personal message)- you generally need 2/3 posts to send and receive such messages.
The 1911 census is online (free) and you might find useful information there (1901 is to be added shortly)-

Hello,
Last summer I visited Antrim and photographed all the Magill/McGill gravestones at Feystown Chapel. I believe this is her.

Yes. I have strong evidence they did. My ancestor, John Magill (1818-1891), immigrated to the US around 1848.  He initially came to Lake County, Illinois, then Cuming county Nebraska. His brothers Hugh and Patrick joined him in the US. In the 1851 Census fragment in Corkermain, Carncastle, Antrim, there is a family of James and Elizabeth Magill that I believe is their parent. DNA testing (autosomal and Y) is consistent with this conclusion, when compared to an Irish descendant of this family.

I don't think that I am related to Martha Magill Lilley family. I do have some additional information on them that I'd like to share with you by email, once I am approved for messaging.
