Title: Ada Mary PRENTICE - Help Please

Hello all

Can anyone help me find Ada Mary Prentice, child of Sarah Prentice, domestic servant.   She was baptized at Wycombe Poor Law Union on 26 March 1875.  I have found her birth on Free BMD but I cannot find any other record for her - no marriage, no death.  I'd be grateful for any information at all please.

Hi Pat,

Had a little time on my hands so had a play on the net looking for your Ada Mary Prentice.

No luck.  I did find an Ada Matilda Prentice born in Wycombe in 1875 and died in Wycombe 1876 at 1 year old.  I couldn't find a record of her birth in 1875 so was wondering if may this could be your Ada Mary with the middle name recorded incorrectly, especially if  the family was very poor.

By the way are you Pat Prentice from Water End?

I too found birth for Ada Mary and death for Ada Matilda and wondered if the could be one and the same so I ordered the death certificate but different mother's name given.  Still a possibility I suppose.

A thought popped into my head.  If you cannot find anything on Ada Mary.  Did they have adoption in 1875?
