I have managed to log in, but with extreme difficulty.

Running very slowly, and 'freezing' regularly.

Appears to be undergoing maintenance.  I thought we used to receive notification of scheduled maintenance?

Been trying for 40 mins to reply to a message notification.  Won't accept my log-in, says user/password don't match.  just now tried to log in again to see message "currently in the process of updating this feature".
Hope I can log back in when they've stopped messing around ::)

There was a banner on some pages yesterday saying it'd be down for routine maintainance - although why they just couldn't just send out an email is beyond me. The blog should give times and info.

Thought I'd post it seeing as some of you can't actually log in.

Scheduled Family Tree Maintenance (21 January, midnight-3 AM MST)
Posted by Kenny Freestone January 20, 2010

Please be aware that the Ancestry.com Family Tree Service will undergo scheduled maintenance on Thursday 21 January 2010, from 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM Mountain Standard Time.

This tree service downtime will affect Ancestry Member Trees, OneWorldTree, our new Tree To Go iPhone app,  some portions of My Canvas, the sections of the Home Page that are related to Member Trees, and the sections of MyFamily.com 2.0 that are related to Member Trees. Other than that, all other areas of the site will remain functional.

For the vast majority of our members living outside Mountain Daylight Time, 12:00 – 3:00 AM MDT is the same as…

Coordinated Universal Time: 07:00 – 10:00 AM
In London: 7:00 – 10:00 AM
In Melbourne: 6:00 – 9:00 PM
In San Francisco: 11:00 PM – 2:00 AM
In New York: 2:00 – 5:00 AM
In Moscow: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
In Rome: 8:00 – 11:00 AM
In Tokyo: 4:00 – 7:00 PM

I'm getting a bit fed up with it, it's the third time this has happened, in the short time I have been with them.
I'm wondering if it's worth renewing my subscription.

You may have just been unlucky. I've been with them about 18 months and not had too many problems - just the odd maintainance hiccough, which isn't such a bad thing if you think about it.

Me neither, keeps telling me my password is wrong and even my usual trick of logging into Ancestry.com and accessing Ancestry.co.uk that way doesn't work  :(

It's the same for me  ???

What is even more confusing is that I am using FTM09 and have just entered a new family member and it comes up with the shakey green leaf but when I go to access it, it comes up with an error!

Guess I will have to be patient and try again later.

Ditto the above - my password isn't being recognised either.

Might have known this would happen - I went mad and splashed out on 12 months Worldwide Sub. less than 48 hours ago.  >:(

I dont' know what they were doing, but I'm in too, and it looks ok.

Can't imagine why they'd need to shut the whole thing down for so long though. An explanation might be nice.

About 1/2 hr ago I logged in successfully via FTM09 and all running ok

About 10 mins ago for some reason Ancestry switched to the old form of search (I use the new one!).

When I contacted Ancestry about this problem which occurred a few months ago, they said that it was because they were having trouble with the server connecting with FTM, although if people searched just using plain Ancestry on the web they would be alright and he suggested I used the search facility away from FTM.

I have no doubt that they will rectify the problem as soon as they are able to.

I've this problem since before Christmas, but despite emailing Ancestry and them changing my password, no change whatsoever  :( The login page still won't load ("this page cannot be displayed") for either .com or co.uk

Sometimes I can get saved Census' to work, other days they won't load either. The front page works fine.

Not sure if it's me or them!
