Hi Awarld - Your post is very interesting, as my wife is a great great granddaughter of Charles Henry Kettle, and we have just visited Kettle Park in Dunedin NZ which commemorates his work in surveying and laying out the city. However Wikipedia says that Charles was the son of "the impecunious Matthew Kettle". Your posting of Nathaniel Kettle as Charles' father makes more sense, as he (Charles) called his son Nathaniel. Nathaniel (jr.) was an interesting character himself, as he married the daughter of Gustavus Ferdinand von Tempsky who features largely in NZ history, and went on to found the very successful company of Williams and Kettle. Sorry I can't help with your direct request.

The Kentish Chronicle has an entry on Saturday 21 January 1860. Nathaniel Kettle Sandwich died 9 January aged 85 years.

An advertisement posted in the Kentish Chronicle 1804 states Nathaniel Kettle has taken over the business of Linen Weaver and a flax dresser at Delphi Street Sandwich. The advert goes on to list all the goods he makes.
1837 has Nathaniel Kettle selling a piece of ground in Lucksboat Street.
Hope this helps. I will look into the connection with the Kingsford family as these are in my tree.

A MAYBE
I have found a non conformist birth on Ancestry to Nathaniel Kettle and Elizabeth Dye she is Louisa born 12/12/1815 baptised 20/01/1816 living in Sandwich father a weaver. She was baptised in the Great Hall Cross Street Independent Chapel Liverpool Kent, but I cannot find a Liverpool in Kent this chapel is said to be in Liverpool Lancs. (what she was doing up there I do not know)
Also a marriage between Louisa Kettle and Thomas Longford in St Andrews Church Holborn London
He was a farmer from Warboys Huntingdon and his father was John also a farmer
She was the daughter of Nathaniel Kettle a gentleman
This ties up with Nathaniel Kettle's probate which says
KETTLE Nathaniel late of Sandwich in the county of Kent - gentleman - deceased who died 9th January 1860 at Sandwich aforesaid was proved at Canterbury by the oath of Louisa Longford (wife of Thomas Longford) of Warboys in the county of Huntingdon the daughter and the sole executrix
Effects £100 (£8501in todays money
Good Luck
