Does anyone have any of this family in their tree?

I am trying to trace from where came my Leicester Rawsons in the mid-late 18th century and have read that they were descended from "an old Nottingham family". So does anyone have any evidence that any of the Selston Rawsons made it to Leicester?

i know its a while since you posted this but, i have part of the Rawson Family tree, family originated from Winkburn near Newark in 17th century, although no one shown to be in Selston till 1918 with the marriage of George Rawson to Ada Teasdale at Selston Church.

  RAWSON in Selston is in my tree too.    I have found them in the parish fiches as far back as 1660 where there are lots of baptisms.  The first one that is legible appears to be Thomas RAWSON son of Wm the Headmaster, born 13/2/1660 and bap 17/5/1660.

The first definite Leic Rawson of mine was Thomas, who died in 1784. Although he was decribed as FWK in his will, he was actually a frameowner etc, mixed with the Leicester high and mighty and left a substantial sum of money in his will.

I wonder if he was the Thomas who was bapt son of William in 1730, in Leicester.

There was a William Rawson who married Ann Chapman in Leicester in 1740-something (sorry, notes not to hand) - he was apparently from Nottingham and presumably well off, as Ann again came from one of Leicester's leading families.

I can't now remember how I made a tentative Selston connection though! I'll have to scour my notes---
