Hi
I'm looking for any details on a John Benfield b c 1740 Charlbury who married Martha unknown.  They had the following children:

May 1761, Sarah 1763, John 1766, William 1774, Elizabeth 1776, John 1778, Ann & Martha 1785

William 1774 is my direct ancestor: chr 24 Jul 1774 Charlbury, d 1843 Burnham Bucks, mar Hannah Spicer 1809 Hooknorton, shoe maker according to 1841 census.

Looking at the gap between 1766-1774 I'm not sure whether in fact there was another marriage.

Any information on John appreciated,

John BENFIELD  (m) Martha WEST (botp) in Charlbury 7 December 1760. Wit: Parker BUSBY and Robert TOMS.

Martha BENFILDE wife of John buried 1 December 1768 in Charlbury.

John BENFILDE {widower} (m) Martha CARTER {spinster} in Charlbury 12 November 1771. Wit: Robert SMITH and Robert TOMS.



Martha BENFIELD, widow buried 22 June 1812 in Charlbury.
