Frederick Richard Woodley Perrin born 29th April 1883 at Kaipoi New Zealand.
He was my grandfather but was not around after 1917.
Believed to have left New Zealand and I would like to know where he died and is buried.
He may have remarried after 1924.
I have all his information except that and would like to put him to rest.
Any help greatly appreciated

Hi Mackiwi
I haven't read through all of the Perrin threads on the Australian board, but I gather you (or others, on your behalf) have already done a thorough search for Frederick (Frank) in OZ ?
Can you tell us his occupation please ?

Hi Lucy
His discharge from the army has fisherman, I have tried placing posts in Australia as well as NZ but not found anything. Also have a couple of cousins who have been trying to trace him without any luck.
I hoped by placing my query here I might reach a wider group of folks who might be able to shed some light on where he went to.

Hi Mackiwi,
This is not your 'man', but thought you would be interested that a Frederick Perrin and his wife Louisa are buried at Havelock North cemetery. You may very well already have this information, but worth a try in case they are related.

Good luck,

Hi Mackiwi
Due to the fact that you hadn't said you already have searches on the Oz and NZ boards, I moved this post to the best board - NZ! It remains the best board as folk here have the expertise of looking for people who immigrated or emigrated and in any case you reach just the same audience whether the post is here or elsewhere.
If you feel you would like it returned to the Common Room board, I can do that BUT I would appreciate it if you would link to - or post here - all relevant info from previous searches to avoid duplication of effort.
What avenues have you tried and dismissed? What documents do you have and what do they say? Have you looked for wills, evidence that he attended the marriage of offspring or anything to narrow down the search? Why do you say "not around after 1917" for example?
Let me know how we can help.
Kind regards, Arranroots ;)

Hi,
Amelia Constance was my grandmother who divorced Fred in 1924.
Enrolled his daughters at school in Feb 1917.
There was a son but he didn't have the exact same name.
The one in havelock North belongs to a totally different family. I have been in touch with that family.
Those that might have known more would not pass on any information.

Thanks Mackiwi
When was he discharged from the Army? Might he have been recalled for WWI?
;)

Another thought - if Fred/ Frank was divorced in 1924 he must surely have been alive - have you got copies of the papers?

And is this your guy in jail?
