Title: Killead Antrim
Post by: martyn1a on Friday 08 January 10 13:39 GMT (UK)
I have a huge favour to ask, some of my anscetors (Robb family) were buried in the Presbertarian meeting House in the townland of Tully. I would be extremely grateful if anyone living nearby would be able to check out the headstones or parish records on my behalf. Altrnatively I would welcome any advice as to obtaining this information myself, short of going over to Ireland.

If so, there may not be any existing headstones that old for the family (or they might not have had a stone to start with). In addition to that, many Presbyterians were buried in Church of Ireland burying ground so both the Presbyterian Church and Church of Ireland one would probably need to be checked.
Not sure where you are living but at the moment we've had snow lying on the ground for a few weeks and the temperature is now below freezing even during the day so suspect it will be a while before anyone would offer to look.

Yes, still trying but to no avail. I came accross the following website www.glenavyhistory.com that has a list of Robb's buried as per post. Unfortunatley it doesn't list any other information, such as first names, date of death etc, but the area & dates seem to tie in (probably clutching at straws). I am over in England so it would be quite difficult for me to go over myself. I appreciate the weather conditions are probably just as bad in Antrim as they are here & so would be prepared to wait.

Hi Liz
I can't thank you enough for pictures, it is very kind of you to go to so much trouble. I am currently trying to link the names on the headstone to my ancestors & hopefully will find a connection.
thanks once again
