This is a photo of my dad's sister who died at the age of 17 in 1929. Can anything be retrieved?
I've seen some amazing results but I have no real hopes for this one. I hope I have re-sized it OK, and attached it properly.
Regards,
Colin

What a tragedy to befall such a bright and lovely young person.
Here's my attempt.

Wow! What a response, and so quick too. I am truly staggered as to how you manged it, but am even more grateful.
Thank you very much, Irene, Mike, Rayfo and MJB. The family story goes that she worked as a seamstress in one of the large fashion houses and she got a sewing machine needle through her finger. She died from blood-poisoning a few days later, which is almost unbelievable nowadays.
Thanks again,
Colin

Oh my gosh :o :o :o
I suddenly got chills...my Mum was a seamstress and she stiched her thumb on her machine. She had a nasty scar and the nail was forever split down the middle. She always said it was her reminder to keep her hands well away from the machine foot.

I'm sorry that I gave you a shock, Irene. :-[
You would think that a seamstress had a fairly leisurely job, wouldn't you, but it obviously had it's dangers.

Its amazing what jogs the old grey cells isn't it.? ;D
Haven't thought of that for years and now my Mum is clearly in my thoughts today. (She died nearly 40 years ago) so thank you for that. ;D

An interpretation from me ... like many other restorers on here I have to reduce and often compress the file to fit in with the ceiling allowed on RC so if you do require a larger version often more suitable for printing purposes you can send a P M to the restorer concerned who is usually happy to send you the larger file via your email address.
What a tragic story about this young lady though ... and how nice that despite this it triggered such a warm memory for you of your Mum Irene .... :-*
Poll
oops posted wrong version ! doh

Hi Poll,
Thanks for the restoration, they are all excellent, I wish I'd asked Santa for a magic wand.

Hi Colin
I've just found this version that I obviously had fun doing. I've put a frame around it and, as Poll says, it's been reduced and compressed to fit the RC restrictions.

Hi Gadget, thanks for the restore. I like the effect you've given it and it's much clearer and sharper than the original.
Much appreciated,

Hi Colin
One more for you

Hi David, thanks for this one. I don't know anything about how the restorers work their magic but it appears that the right side of her face caused a problem, particularly around the eye. So it gives me an idea of just how much effort goes into the job.
Thanks to you and all the others who have gone to the trouble with this.

That's a cracker, David :D
I've just found another one while sorting out my photo files.
