Title: Killeen
Post by: Jack49 on Monday 14 March 05 22:51 GMT (UK)
Timothy  Killeen was born in Carronaugary, County Clare, in 1832.  His parents were Patrick Killen and Ellen Malone.  If anyone couldmprovide me with any additional information about the Killeens or Malones from County Clare I would be most appreciate.

Thank you,

Jack49

I think I am descended from this family. Some of them emigrated to Australia ca 1870 and settled at Sale, Victoria. Would love to swap notes on this one.

Sedona 92,

Timothy had a sister Honora and several brothers.  I believe their names were connor, patrick and michael.  There were 2-3 more brothers but I am not sure of their names.  I think Ellen Malone Killeen died aroung 1900 in County Clare.

Can you provide me with some information on your Killeens?  I have been in contact with another person who has some Killeen family from County Clare also.

Looking forward to your response.

Tks for that Jack, my descent is from John killeen b ca 1815 Carrownagry Nth ,  Co Clare, (the son of Patrick Killeen) and Margaret Griffen b ca 1820 Co Clare. They were married ca 1838 Carrownagry Nth and had issue Margaret ca 1839, James ca 1840, Honora 1842, Patrick ca 1844, Michael ca 1846, Thomas ca 1850, Tim ca 1854 and John ca 1856.

Honora and John came to Victoria, Australia and so far as is known, all of the others stayed in Ireland. There are descendants who still live at Carownagry Nth.

It's lovely when people researching the same family 'meet' here on Rootschat but we aren't allowed to mention details of living/possibly living people so you may have to go back to your 1st post Justine and remove some of the names from your father's obituary (you can modify your own posts for up to 24 hours- after that click on 'report to moderator' and ask for changes to be made for you).

You'll need to be cautious about accepting all the details from online family trees but they can be a good starting point for your own research.
