Hi, would anyone be able to tell me where, or what area of Nottingham, Broad Oak Street was in please.
I have looked on a current map of Nottingham and can only find Broad Oak Close.
Broad Oak Street was still around in 1962 (have cert with address on).
Many thanks

It was off Corporation Road, running parallel to Hungerhill Road.
I think it was the St Ann's area but I may need correction on that!

Hi Jackie c i was born in the area and have a map dated 1901 and it is on the map just. and like Garibaldired said it runs off corporation road . Broad Oak street was a long street cause it has Lomas street running through the middle.I think i walked that way once and if i remember right they were big houses , well a lot bigger than i lived in .
Maybe if you look on Picture The Past the street might be on there .
It was just above the st anns area i lived in but i think it was still classed as st anns
Edited , i have just looked on Picture the Past and there is one photo on there and they are as i remember them

Hello….. :)
You might find this site useful…. http://www.ivanlea.net/sub_pages/notts_maps.htm
This one for East South has the area that you are interested in – look for Alexandra Park and just as garibaldired and LH35 said it runs parallel to Hungerhill Road.

Thank you all for your help, and for the links..
I looked at the photo on picture the past website and am I right in thinking that these houses were demolished not long after it was taken in 1971, as the house windows seem to be boarded up?
I've only just come across this address due to the fact I have finally found my Great Grandfathers death registered at this address is 1962...Nothing was known about him when he left his young family in Cardiff in the early 1920's. Looks like he remarried aswell---but don't think he divorced his 1st wife!! Ooh-more mystery for my to unravel... ::)
Once again. Many thanks

You may be interested in this website (authored by myself). My grandfather lived on Broad Oak St and I knew it well. https://stannswellroad.weebly.com/broad-oak-street-corporation-rd-to-st-anns-valley.html
