Post by: wattsy1 on Friday 01 January 10 16:49 GMT (UK)
Does anyone know where the Police Station would have been located in Leominster during the late 1800s? Any help appreciated, thank you.

According to Herefordshire SMR, Leominster police station would have been located on Burgess St, where the NFU mutual building is now.

Hope that helps

Many thanks for that info, greatly appreciated. Nice to know where one of my old relatives used to work as a policeman. Do I assume that the original building has since been replaced?

As spidermonkey says, the building is now the NFU office but the actual building (constructed 1885) is still there. When did your ancestor work there, as I have a book with a photograph (with names) of the whole of the 1893 Leominster Division of the Herefordshire Constabulary in it? Also a photo of the Police Station as it was in 1950.
