I would appreciate a lookup on the 1861 Census for..........
Elizabeth BULL - born 1788 - Farley Staffordshire.
I have her on the 1851 & 1871 Census,,,however I'm stumped as to where she was in 1861.
Her husband Job Bull (b.1805) is at Dividy Lane Staffordshire in 1861 & 1871....but not his wife Elizabeth...I add that Elizabeth was some 17 years Job's senior.
Best wishes to all for the New Year. :)

Hi Sarra
Where was Elizabeth in 1851? Were she and John Bull married by then? :)

Hi again Sarra
I've had a look for your Elizabeth Bull but like you cannot find her :( . I have tried different spellings etc but no luck. The only thing I can think of is that she may be with one of her married children or even grandchildren - do you know where they all are on the 1861 census? If not it might be worth tracking them down, if you do, then a rethink is needed ::)

Aich - Elizabeth Hall nee Finney married Job Bull in 1845.
The 1851 Census - she is with Job Bull and his children from his first marriage they are at Brook Houses Cheadle - HO107/2009 folio 504 page 2.

Hi Crystal,
I think I have tried nearly everything I can think of to find her......I suppose it's always likely that she was left off the 1861 census ???
Tried checking to see if she was with any of Job's married children.....no luck there. Only one of Job's daughters was unmarried in 1861 (I think)...anyway I have traced a Sarah Bull (b.1837) who I think is the correct one.....she is a servant in the household of William Cotton - at Blurton Staffs.
Elizabeth Bull (Finney/Hall) did have a few children from her first marriage to Samuel Hall (marr 1811). Possibly George Hall (b.1811) Emma Hall (b.1816).
On the 1871 Census RG10/2889 F 17 p 6 - Dividy Lane Caverswall Staffs.
There is a George Hall - age 40 - lodger. He is in the household of Job Bull & Elizabeth. This George Hall's birth place is listed as unknown...so it doesn't give us any clue as to where he came from. Anyway it may just be a coincidence that he has the surname HALL??.
Elizabeth Bull died in 1874 ...she was widowed about 1840.....I have her on all other census but the 1861 ???
Oh well...on I plod.

ilsonlad,
I have used this website over a number of years.
However my Bull Ancestors are a strange lot - can't get back beyond 1760, with any certainty we have the right line.
Thank you for posting.
