Does anyone live near Toowong Cemetery in Brisbane? My great grandfather is buried there and I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to take a photo of his grave for me? I am not 100% sure if there is a headstone or not but I'm hoping so!
His name is Alexander Morrison Coventry and his plot is:
Portion 5, Section 4, Grave Number 14
Alexander died 6/1/1944 and was buried 11/1/1944.
There may also be the name Peter Hanson on the grave.
I'm in Melbourne so if anyone would be willing to do this, I would greatly appreciate it.
Kind regards,
Andrea

Peter Hansen is in with him. Interred 14 / 10 / 1902

Hi Andrea,
I do not see a MI for either of these gentlemen so you may be out of luck with a monument. (No Coventry's at all)
Good Luck.
Cheers Kris :)

Hi Andrea,
I live near Toowong Cemetery and would be happy to take photo if the rain every stops. Not complaining about the rain as we need it so badly.

I realise that this thread hasn't been visited in a few years, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed ......
I'm looking for photos of the gravestone of:
Samuel Meuros McCall, died 5th October 1935 age 50 & Daisy McCall, died 10th January 1929 age 43.
They are both interred in the same grave: Portion 8, Section 23, Grave No. 24, Toowong Cemetery.
I'd be really grateful in anyone could find the time to help me out.
Anne
P.S. I have a copy of an aerial view showing the location if it would be of any help.

Hi,
Sorry I can't help this time as we have moved away from Brisbane in our retirement.

Hi Andcarred,
Thanks for your reply.
I'll keep hoping there's a Rootschatter in the area who doesn't mind a wee wander around cemeteries!

Perhaps a volunteer can help you

If you don't get any joy from a volunteer at the website Cando gave you, try G....gle for Friends of Toowong Cemetery. They don't say they will take photos but they may know someone who will.
I know at least one person in the organisation who is into FH so might do it.
You can only ask.

Thank you very much Cando and Billyblue!
I completely forgot about RAOGK. ::)
There's quite a few volunteers in Brisbane, so I'll try them one at a time.

I have just read your post and hope you already had someone respond. However, if you need me to visit Toowong cemetery, please reply as I travel (quite a way) past the Toowong cemetery from time to time, so I could pursue what you have requested if you still need it. I will try to monitor this forum in case you do reply. Kind Regards from sunny Brisbane Australia. LJ

Hi lesleywindow,
My apologies for not replying sooner -I didn't get notification that there had been activity on this thread.
Thank you very much for your kind offer, someone got photos for me and I should get a slap on the wrist for not stating as much and thanking them on the open board. (I did thank them personally at the time!)
Anne :)
