I am trying to piece together one of my family lines, the Nuthall's, confectioners. I can trace back to a George Nuthall b 1805 d 1873 and his wife Sophia who were living in Kingston, London in 1871.
I am trying to find their complete list of children, so far I have Abigail Maria (b 1831 Hounslow, my g-g-grandmother), George William (b 1933 Brentford) and Charles Edward (b 1842). Any help to fill in the gaps, other siblings etc would be much appreciated... thank you... Phil.

There is also Anne Matilda Nuthall, baptised 15 Nov 1835 at St Laurence, New Brentford. George's occupation is pastry cook.
George Nuthall, bachelor, married Sophia Williams, spinster, at St Mary, Hanwell on 19 March 1830. William Nuthall and Samuel Burton (Parish Clerk) were the witnesses.

Think there might be mixup in the fathers name that Nigel found, by the parish clerk or Vicar I mean, not Nigel. There are two sons with William and Abigail as parents 1803 to 1805, and then a number of children baptised to a Henry and Abigail at the same church from 1808 to 1824. The Ann with George and family in 1841 age 16 is likely to be the Ann born 1824 to Henry and Abigail in Wrentham. In 1841 Henry and Abigail are in St James, Bury St Edmunds, and in 1851 are in Hampton, Middlesex.
There is also no marriage for a William to an Abigail, but there is a Henry, IGI submitted entry, 20 Jul 1802 to Abigail RAMBY. Henry's birthplace as Frostenden, baptised 20 Sep 1779 at Wrentham

John Christopher Wilson NICHOLLS of the parish of Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, bachelor, and Elizabeth NUTHALL, otp, spinster, were married after licence at St Lawrence, New Brentford, 29 Nov 1829. Witnesses were George NUTHALL, Abigail NUTHALL and Elizabeth NICHOLLS.
The signature of George the witness in 1829 looks a fairly good match with the signature of George the groom in 1830.

Ian and Nigel, thank you both very much for this valuable information which confirms the children of George and Sophia as well as their birth marriage and death details which I will now feed into my tree on Ancestry. You have also given me some useful leads on the next generation back which I really appreciate.
My cousin contacted me a few days ago to say he has a hunter watch in his possession, passed down from his father which had the initials CEN and the date Aug 1881 on it. I believe CEN was Charles Edward Nuthall, the youngest son of George and Sophia. A former mayor of Kingston was Charles E Nuthall in 1884/85 so I am assuming it is the same person.

Hi janemoffitt
Welcome to Rootschat ;D
Ian C (Eyesee) is one of many talented Rootschatters who give their time doing look-ups to help other people. The information he supplied may not have come from his own personal family history.
The original poster, phil56, is the chatter with the Nuthall/Wilson connection.
phil56 should have received notification that you and I have posted a reply in his topic and should come back very soon and reply.

Dear Phil56,
I believe we are looking for similar families. My great great grandmother was Elizabeth Nuthall married to John Christopher Wilson Nicholls. Elizabeth Nuthall's parents were Henry and Abigail Nuthall from Frosteneden, Suffolk. Please let me know if you also believe we are searching for the same family.

Hello Jane, it is good to meet you on this site, we may well share the same Nuthall ancestors, but further work is required here.
My g-g-g-grandfather was George Nuthall, born Wrentham 1804, died kingston 1873. My original post in this thread was to help establish the full list of children of George and his wife Sophia Williams.
I have not yet spent time going further back, however the posters eyecee and nigelp provided some clues in the thread above. I am assuming that your g-g-grandmother Elizabeth was probably the sister of George Nuthall, (Ian's post of 29th Dec, showing witnesses to Elizabeth's marriage would suggest this) however we need to prove this somehow, probably by looking at Parish records in the Wrentham and Frostenden area of Suffolk.
There seems to be a little confusion over who the father is of George, either William or Henry, so that needs to be established as well.
In due course I shall dig deeper into this myself, but happy to review others research... regards Phil.

Hi Phil,
All sounds good. Right now my little laptop pc has died with all my Rootsmagic database on it. We do have it stored on the internet. I just need to go buy a new computer and restore all my databases. In other words, I will be a few days before I can get to my research. I have to fly to a funeral this week as well so I am probably looking at next week before I can send you a database. Would you like a database of what I have on the Nuthall/Nicholls/Hamby line? I apologize for having to make you wait. It would be great to compare our information.
