Hi, I'm looking for info about the marriage of Nicholas Howlan and Jane Guthrie in 1837 in Waterford. I found the marriage on familysearch, but there were no details as to church or parish, and no names of their parents either.

I would also like info on their children, although there is some confusion about whether they were born in Liverpool or Ireland, one census says Ireland, but others say Liverpool.
Henry Howlan b 1839
Nicholas Howlan b 1844
Mary Ann Howlan b 1849
Elizabeth J. b 1851
As I cannot find them on the 1841 census, maybe it is likely they were born in Waterford, Ireland.

Thank you
Rosanna J

The marriage details on LDS site are submitted (no source given) not extracted so may not be accurate (you'll notice that Nicholas's estimated year of birth is 4 years earlier than Jane's which seems to be common in LDS submitted records).
Marriage records from that period often don't give parents names so even if the marriage record does exist it might not give much more detail.

Have any parish records for any churches in Waterford been transcribed, or likely to be put online?

You can search the LDS catalogue online and see which Waterford church records they might have microfilmed (www.familysearch.org).
There are links to some church records under WATERFORD RESOURCES at the top of this board and others who might know more about Waterford church records will probably be able to help.
