Title: NEILL family in Stoke St Mary
Post by: ednaj on Monday 21 December 09 19:54 GMT (UK)
In 1901 my grandfathers brother lived at 147 Randolph Road Stoke St Mary Ipswich on the 1901 census. His name was William Neill and his wife Louisa. They were both in the Salvation Army. They had 4 children:
Marion Pilch Neill born 1899
Frances Neill born 1901
Florence Neill born 1902
William Neill born 1905.
Could anyone do a look up for the last 3 childrens births as I would like to know if they had a second name. They emigrated to Canada in 1907 and I am having difficulty finding out what happened to the last 3 children. I cannot find their birth certificates.I would be thankful for some help.

Thank you for your information, you are all so kind.
I didn't know they moved to Salford but it definitely looks possible now. The father William seemed to be a preacher in the Salvation Army so he was probably posted around the country. Is there anyway I could possibly check the parentage of the children?
Once again thanks
Regards

Hi Edna

Unless anyone on here has access to Parish records for baptisms you will probably need to send for the certificates. If you order them from the General Register Office  www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/  they will cost you £7 each. If you state that you only want them if it gives the parents as William and Louisa they will check before sending and if they are not the correct certificates then they will refund some of your money.

Good luck
