Hi all...I was wondering if, in the even of someone going to Southern Cemetery, they might be willing to photograph and send a photo of my Great Grandparents plot and heastone...
I live in Canada, so this is sadly a little difficult for me... :-[
They are in grave 2264 Section CChurch of England
William Hall (great grandfather)
Sarah Jane Hall (great grandmother) died 20/11/1889
John Saul Holcroft
Sarah Ann Holcroft
Not sure what is possible, but if anyone would be willing, I sure would owe them... ;)
Thanks

Why, thank you Mikgy...I hadn't known when William Hall had died...and you just filled that in for me... :)
And thank you for clarifying how the grave numbering works...I just copied the info from the Manchester City Council site...
And thank you Cancan for taking the time...it means a lot to me... :)
Cheers

William died age 38 years old and was a carter ( some one who moves goods around with a horse and cart)
Sarah died aged 40 and was last living in the Longsight district of Manchester.

I really qppreciate all this info... :)
I looked at FreeBMD for Deaths for Sept 1882 and there is one William Hall at 43 in Chorlton, and one William Hall at 38 in Barton I....are theseplaces very close...
Sounds like mine might be the 2nd one if he is listed as dying at 38 years old...would Barton I, be a reaonable location???
Just trying to determine which one might be my William...

Barton is only a stones throw away from Southern cemetery ( about a 15 min drive if your no good at chucking stones)
Plus you can't always go off a death record for the age as the person you really want to be giving the information is dead and it could be only a neighbour who registers the death and not his wife?

Put this into Google earth:
Barlow Moor Road,
Chorlton cum Hardy
Lancashire
&
Barton upon irwell salford
You will get an idea how far appart they are, but think your William might have died in Manchester my self?

Hi Karen...thank you so much for your efforts...they are greatly appreciated...
And sorry I took so long responding...I was vacationing in Cuba over the Holidays... 8)
Sadly, this William and Sarah Jane Hall appear to be considerably too old for the ones I need...
Mine were both born in the year 1848, and would be at least a generation younger than this couple...
I guess I will just keep hunting...but thank you so much for the help... :)
