Hi! Does anyone know if there is a Street Directory that would show who was living at 28, Green street, Calton in 1920. I have looked at the Valuation Rolls on the Glasgow Story for the years up until 1914, but that is a bit too early.

The only online directory ( as far as I'm aware) is the 1927 one which can be viewed at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~glasgow/index-glas.htm
There are two Green Streets listed in this directory although from the location Low Green Street is a more likely candidate but there are no private individuals listed only 1 firm, a church and a police office.
For a number of years from the 1920's many streets in Glasgow were renamed as the city expanded Green Street (listed as Bridgeton) was changed to Mackeith Street (which does not seem to be in the 1927 directory).

Hi Falkyrn,
Thank you very much for the reply, the online directory was very interesting, but unfortunately it did not show the person I was looking for. I think she was only there for one year (1920) so I'm unlucky.

The Mitchell library in Glasgow have Post Office directories for those years. You could try them or maybe a local may go look for you.
