Hi Everybody,
Just wondering if anyone knows the name and what kind of establishment was at 29 London Road, Liverpool city centre in 1871 as one of my ancestors (Ellen Dunlop) was employed here as a waitress.
Thanks in advance,
Jenni

Whoops! Sorry, Ellen Lavell (maiden name!)
-
There were lots of pubs in London Road, though few now. In 1909 [for which I have a copy of an official book] there were pubs at 23 [Pineapple] and 31 [Clock Inn]. Not much help, but others may come along with directory/census info.

Hester Warren married John Hall in 1873. In 1881 they are restaurant proprietors at 38 Lord Nelson Street. By that time 29 London Road has become Black & White Tea Dealers.

Thanks everyone,
Apparently Ellen Lavell married a John Dunlop and they're are family rumours that she was quite a successful landlady in the kitchen street area so I was trying to check out her work history in the hope I can identify her pub.
Thanks again for all your help, you've been brilliant!
