Hi,
Can anyone find the baptism of James Elsby circa 1763 and possibly siblings? He married and baptised his own children at Sanbach so was probably born in or near the parish.
As usual with my family there are no IGI records!
Thanks

Hi Ladyhawk,
Thanks for your help but I'm afraid it's the wrong generation. All of the children mentioned except the 2nd one are the children of the James Elsby I'm looking for. He married Martha Dale in 1794 in Sandbach. I managed to get hold of his death certificate from 1840 with him aged 77, so he would have been baptised around 1763/64.
I've struggled to find any details for him so far. Do you know of any ways to access Sandbach records without actually going to Chester?
Thanks again for your help.

Hi,
Manchester Library hold a reel of film for St Mary's in Sandbach/Astbury, or if you are near a LDS Church you can order Parish Register films there.
Looked at the list on LDS website and they do have them.
Although now with there new ordering system, which now can take 3months for a film to come. But at least you get to view for 3months cost has now gone up to £7.50 per film.
Cancan :)
