Does any one know anything about a murder that was committed at 'Scaws Farm' Penrith, Please?
When I look it up on google it says about a well known murder having taken place there but does not give any details. Does any one know any names or anything about it. I think it must be around the middle of the last century.
I am interested because a GG Aunt lived there with her daughter.
Thanks

Hi Judy, a couple of hits for Scaws Farm coming up on the National Archives website, no mention of a murder :-[
Documents are held in the Cumbria Record Office and Local Studies Library, Whitehaven...might be worth contacting them, someone with some local knowledge might know something.

Hi Judy
I live in Penrith and have done all my life. I'm not sure what your ancestors names were, but the Scaws Farm belonged to the Clark family at the time of the murder

Thank you all for the help on this. I think my ancestors were earlier than this as I have not found a link to the name Clark as yet. The surnames that I have are 'Spark' & 'Dent'

When I told my husband, he said that it was a son who shot his mother -

Seems to have been about 1980.
