Hi,
I'm trying to get any information related to the sons of Donald and Mary Gillies from Burghead, Moray: Henry Gillies and Daniel Gillies, probably lived in Elgin.
From the Online Moray Heritage Services I got followig information:
Donald Gillies (born c. 1839, died 5 DEC 1904 in Burghead, interred in Elgin Cemetery) and Mary Gillies born Urquhart (died 11 FEB 1872, in Rosebrae between Burghead and Elgin).
The got 5 children:
- Annie (born 1857 died 1952 in Santiago, Chile)
- John ("disapeared")
- Margaret (born 1862 died 1919 in 174 High Street, Elgin),
- Henry
- Daniel
- Mary (born 1872 died 1902 in Elgin)
We assume that Mary Urquhart (Gillies) died when the latests daughter was born; So that Annie took (with 15) the responsibility for the brothers.
Mary Urquhart (Gillies) had one sister - Janet Urquhart (lived in Ferintosh) - and one brother Walter Urquhart (merchant of Elgin, house in new Elgin, house between Main Street and Convener Str. New Elgin, property on the East Side of High Street, Elgin)
1890 Annie Gillies went to Chile to marry Alexander Cameron from Ferinosh.
When Walter Urquhart died the chilren of Donald Gillies and Mary Urquhart (Gillies) -with exception of John who "disapeared" - where included in his will.
The will was managed by Stewart & McIsaac of Elgin. According to the cash accounts of 1906 Henry Gillies and Daniel Gillies alive; however I haven't found any information about them in the Moray Heritage Services.
Many, many thanks

Thank you!!!
HOWEVER: I still do not know how Ev got that information ... with IGI you mean:
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true
If yes, what data should I enter to get Ev's first results? Sorry, but I have tried and tried, but ... the result is always : No Matches
