Anyone researching the Locke family in East Kilbride? My line runs into the MacLean and Orr family. Early 1800s. I know it is a long shot.
thank you,
Frank Locke

Can't say I am actually researching the Locke's yet, but I have the following in my tree if it helps at all:
Helen Lockie m. Thomas Barr, giving birth to children in Dalserf in 1825 and 1833. My link to her is through daughter Matilda Emma Ashton Barr, from whose OPR birth registration I got Helen's name. I have no birth or marriage information on Helen (yet), but she is buried in Dalserf churchyard (d. 1 Oct 1879, age 77.)
If you can connect to the above, I can bring you forward in time through her daughter Emma.
Regards, Mary Ellen

Dear Mary Ellen-
thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I had a chance to go through evrything and Lockie just doesn't seem to show up. It is Walter Locke (1865-1939) married Sarah Smith. His father was Donald Locke (1839-1895) married Mary Orr (1840-1890). His father was Walter Locke (1817-1887) married Janet MacLean (b. 1816), His father was Thomas Locke married Sarah Smith. As you can see, "Lockie" doesn't fit in it is a direct line of "Locke". Anyway, thank you for looking.
