There was a John DIMMOCKS convict transported to Tasmania but if it was him he was only 13 years old.

Australian Convict Transportation Registers show a John DIMMOCKS (I think the same person Alison found) was convicted at Leicester Borough Quarter Sessions, 5 January 1846, sentence 7 years. Voyage date 4 March, 1846 to Van Diemens Land, ship Lady Palmyra.
Pardon was granted after 5 years in the colony and he had held a ticket of leave for 11 months.
Convict muster of 1849 shows his 'position' as: Depot Campbell Town
England and Wales Criminal Registers show:
JOhn DIMMOCKS, age 17, convicted of larceny, sentence 7 years transportation, at Leicester 1846
On another site is a family tree with mentions of him which include the same name and dates for marriage and children, suggesting his parents may have been John Dimmocks and Rebecca; and IGI has a baptism for a John DIMMOCKS at St Mary de Castro church, Leicester, 13 August 1827, with parents Jhn DIMMOCKS and Rebecca.

hi all thanks i have John joseph DEMMOCKS dwn as been married to a maud HATCH in 1903 now thinking this was a 2nd marriage as there cant be 2 with same name in same place and i have the records 4 convit john DIMMOCK

I am also reseaching the Demmocks family - my grandad Jim was Arthur's brother. I am interested to know if you have a documented marriage for John Joseph DEMMOCKS and Maud Margaret HATCH as I haven't been able to find one. Would also like to know what happened to John Joseph's first wife Isabel but have had no success there either.

Our Dad's sister Auntie Lou who is the only one left out of the Brothers and Sister...has alot of information on the family...Still lives in Dunedin last name Jackman....should be able to give you more details.
