Title: Ambrose Amond Groizard

I keep running into Ambrose Amond Groizard on different searches ... I don't think he is one of mine but now I've just found this soldier so I'm wondering if maybe they're trying to tell me something !!  ??? I wonder if anybody can find him please ? ... just so I'll know for sure !

This looks like them in 1901 - an extended family it appears:

and at the same address (on the next page of the census)

Ambrose A do, son, 10 or 16 (writing is unclear)

All my Groizards and Muels seem to have wonderful names  :)

I'm still not sure ... sorry to sound so blah !!!!!  I'll have to check back further maybe the 1851 would give his siblings ... maybe I can match up with them !

If your still interested in this thread I have copies of the census in the channel isles from 1851 thru to the turn of the century with family links through to 2010. AP. Groizard.

I'd love to know if this family is part of my Groizard family ... though I imagine the name Groizard is not uncommon there !

The Groizard you mentioned was my greatgrandfathers younger brother.  Jersey islanders usually see themselves as English more than french hence him joining the British Army. Though he may not have been living in jersey when he signed up.

The surname Groizard has links with the Isle de Groix which is off the coast of France, near the city of Lorient
