I am trying to trace one of my uncle's.
George Cecil Pearce b 20.11.1914 Sholling Southampton.
Farther Arthur Walter Pearce married Lily May Fisher - IGI.
Arthur was something to do with farm ploughing, uncle George had a picture of him with a horse drawn plough - I "think" he had won a competition.
Any help with dates etc. would be very helpful, thankyou.

That gets me back a bit more, (maybe I can find the ploughing thing now I know a birth date). I think he did not like the name "Cecil": :o
However, any ideas where they might have come from?
There was a rootchat about "Pearce" in June from flannery, The Pearce's there were from Dorset, so they "could" have come from there. :)

there are several Arthur Pearce's b abt same time in various areas of hants - but this is the only Arthur Walter I could find. To me he seems to be the "best bet" but the purchase of Arthur and Lily's marriage cert would confirm.
We are not allowed to post 1911 census (copyright issues and it is pay peer view or by subscription) but I can tell you there was only Arthur home with parents - he was a labourer as was his father . They lived at 47 Newtown Rd Woolston nr Southampton

I have been looking into my family history and came across this chat when I was trying to find what museum in Southampton that mentions my granddad 'Cecil George Pearce' and his Ploughing days.
User name Froggle Toggle claims that this is his Uncle :o I would love to get connected.

Hi Froggle Toggle, apologies about the delay, I have been away and realized I was unable to respond using my phone.
My middle name is Eileen after my grandmother.
Cecil and Eileen had Two kids My Dad, John and his sister, Audrey.
My father sadly passed away last year and I haven't seen my Aunt since I was a child.
I do have just one photo of Cecil and and Eileen Ill be happy to share with you if you would be happy to share back?
I would love to be able to fill in the gaps of my family tree.
