Hello.
Iam trying to find a marriage for Dads Aunt.
Her name is ; Lilian Rose Haylor.
Parents , Alfred @ Rose ( maiden name moreton ) , married 1894 Long Sutton Hampshire.
On the 1911 census they lived in Chertsey Surrey.
Lilian born , Sutton Hampshire , thats where i am confused.
On BMD she is down as Hartley Wintney , 1901 census , Odiham Hampshire.
Can anyone please help ?
Thanks alot....chris.

Hi Chris
Forgive me if I have misunderstood your post, Long Sutton and Odiham both come under the Registration District of Hartley Whitney - I see what you mean though two different birth places given, they don't make life easy though do they. Her birth certificate should clarify where she is actually born.
(Long Sutton and Odiham are only 3 miles apart)
There is a Lily Haylor in 1917 marrying a Harry Hawker in Kent, but the next marriage I can find is 1943. Do you know her married name?
Tressle :)

Lilian Rose Haylor was my aunt. She was married to my father's brother: Archibald Thomas Wyatt in 1943. They lived at Knowle Hill, Virginia Water, Surrey, in the house where 'Arch' was born on 7 November 1890. He died in 1978. I am attaching the only photo I have of 'Arch'. I would dearly love to receive any information and photos you have of 'Lil' as the only information I have is of her birth date of 19 December 1894 in Odiham, Hampshire and her death in November 1984. I look forward to hearing from you. Eileen

Glad I was able to help. I forgot to say that the house in the background was where Arch was born and where he lived with Lil until he died. Just before Arch retired he was a road sweeper in Virginia Water. He made all his own besom brooms and everyone new him.
The only information I have on Lil and her family is from the 1911 Census where her father was listed as a cow man in Chertsey. I went to grammar school in Chertsey but I don't suppose the farm is still in existence. I do hope you can find a photo of Lil (even if it's from when she was young) I don't really remember much about either of them, although we lived very close to them I don't remember visiting them much when I was young, when I married I moved away from Virginia Water so, again, I didn't see anything of them. So far I've managed to trace dad's side of the Wyatt family back to Thomas Wyatt who died in 1603, his son William was born 1572 in Charlton upon Otmoor, Oxfordshire. Finding the past history has been relatively easy, it's the later stuff that's hard to come by. Hope to hear from you soon.
