Hi

Seeking assistance with BDM records and census records up to 1891 of William Ebbs m. Caroline Watson. She was ch. 1812  Stanstead Abbots Hertford and died abt  1870. William died abt 1850. May of had abt 7 children one of which more likely be William and youngest William Mark Prewett Ebbs. trying to find whre the Prewett comes from? Maybe William's or Carolines mother's maiden names?
Apparently Caroline married 3 times Henry Mead Thomas Ebbs and William Ebbs.

THOMAS EBBS who married CAROLINE was a distant cousin to me.  I concur that she also married HENRY MEAD, but have no record of a third marriage for her

Are you sure her husband was William?

If you search for Charity Ebbs, born 1840, you should find parents Caroline and Thomas. I think Thomas died 1843.

Cannot find a William link tho' there is a 1yr old William buried All Saints Hertford, 8 Jan1850..

Thomas Ebbs jnr birth reg 1844 - born posthumously
Then there is a William Ebbs reg Hertford Q4 1848 no mmn on GRO. Is this an illeg son of widowed Caroline?  He would fit Jan 1850 burial

Thomas Ebbs, abode Back Street, Nov 22 1843, age 41.

Thomas jnr baptised 25 Feb 1844, gives both parents names, but records widow under occupation

William bapt 23 Sept 1849 age 9 months, parents given as William and Caroline occ labourer, abode Back street.  was his real father called William but surname unknown

The baptismal record is marked "x'd(?) 9 mo" which I took as "expired 9 months?"

FindMyPast has banns record,  10, 17 and 24th Feb  1861 at Great Amwell, but not marriage register.

they had banns read in Feb 1861, but are together but unmarried on census day 1861 (7th April), then marry on 14 Apr 1861
