IGI (www.familysearch.org) lists Sarah McCafferty born 17 July 1877, daughter of George and Hannah (Doherty).

Sometimes Church Record omits residence but Civil Register has the details.

We have subsequently found the parents of these McCafferty's to be:
Hugh McCafferty b. abt 1800 in Tullyarb, Carrickafoden, Carndonagh - he died sometime before 1875.  His wife was Sarah ??? born Inishowen 1815 and died 6 Oct 1875.  Seeking more info about Hugh, his parents, any siblings and Sarah's Maiden name, her parentage and any siblings.

Margarite McCafferty, Parents, Hugh McCafferty and Sally Diver. No townland given but this could well be Hugh and Sarah you are  researching.

Bald Eagle,    I have a photo of the tombstone and it says Sarah.....and I don't know of any child of theirs Margarite.   However, I will definitely file this away for future reference should a connection pop up. ...there were a lot of McCaffertys!  Thank you for taking the time to forward this!!

Have just found out that Charles McCafferty and Rose Diver and children (from previous post) born in Ire. Came to the US and settled in Illinois.   They had two more children here, John Robert and Katie (Catherine J).  Many census records found.....and several marriage in Illinois for some of the children.
