Have just started researching following ancestors. Anyone with a connection willing to share any information at all? Have hit something of a brick wall.
Mary Ann Knapp married George Watts 1865 Newport. Her father was Alfred Knapp a master builder in Newport. George Watts father was also named George Watts but was deceased at the time of death, and was formerly a letter carrier.
My Grandmother Elizabeth Louisa Watts (one of Mary Ann Knapp and George Watt's children) was born in the Royal Forest of Dean. I'm a bit confused about this as am not sure if RFD is in England or Wales? Apparently a few other of Watts family were also born in RFD.
Elizabeth Louisa Watts married Thomas Henry Reid in 1906 in Newport, but it appears none of Elizabeth's family was present at the wedding. Her father George Watts is a cabinet maker, and Thomas Reid's father is named George Reid and is a coachman.
Any help whatsoever appreciated.
kind regards
Kate

Dear Wendy and all, thank you alll with many many thanks, much appreciated.
I do have some of this information, and some of it is confused around families with a head George Watts married to Mary/Marianne/Marga with similar children's names living around the same town and times. Some appear co-jointly on the same census although with different addresses.
Yes, 1871 UK Census for George and Helena Knapp should read as Watts not Knapp (their mother Mary Ann's maiden name). Not Sure where George Watts is for 1871.
As to Thomas Henry Reid, his marriage certificate in 1906 states his father is a coachman so went with that. Although that too could be misinformation on their marriage certificate. Unsure of whether that George Reed the coalminer belongs to me or not. At least it gives me something to work on before I head back to Wales end 2010 for more research!
best wishes
Kate

Hello again,
Have since found out that Thomas Henry Reid's father is NOT named George after all, but is in fact William Reid. Could I please ask for a William Reid look up as a coachman?
Many thanks in advance, and kind regards
Kate
