Can anyone help. I have hit a brick wall. I am trying to find Margaret Taylor who was 23 years old when she married Maxmillian Klingner in Brisbane Australia on 30 Sep 1876.
Margaret has put on her marriage certificate that she was a spinster and came from Durham England. Her parents are named as Richard Taylor and Ann Robinson. Cannot find any records for her parents either so I am not sure if they went to Durham from somewhere else.
I would love to find any siblings for Margaret as well.
Thanks

Hi Carole
I had also found this one but ruled it out when I found the 1881 England Census which stated -
Margaret Currey Head 28 widow
Mary Currey 10 daughter
John Currey 4 son
Ann Taylor 55 mother widow
John Local 42 uncle
This seems to confirm to me that we had the wrong Margaret Taylor in 1861.
By 1881, my Margaret Taylor had married Maxmillian Klingner in Australia.
I am open to any other suggestions or avenues for me to investigate.
Thanks for your quick reply and help.

Hello Annette,
Are you able to trace through shipping records her arrival in Australia?
Have you tried looking for her parents in Oz?
It may take some searching but as nothing has been found in the Uk as yet you may have more luck in the Aust records.
All the best,
Hinton.

Annette,
Great news.
Google Maxmillian Kligner and all will be revealed abt Margarets life and that of the Klingners.
Click on Family Trees Genealogy site.
Apparently her Dad came to Oz, so u maybe able to get some more info on him in yr country
Margaret was bn Quarrington, Co. Durham, so u could get the Parish Registers and check whether or not she had any siblings.
Won`t say any more about what you`ll find, except,,,, I wish I was as lucky to have such a find.
All the best.
Hinton.

This is probably the Margaret Taylor in that 1861 census
Baptism Kelloe St Helen: 8 May 1853 Margaret Taylor of Coxhoe Hill d/o William Taylor, pitman and Ann.

There is a 1851 census with a Richard Taylor married to an Ann
HO107/2390 Folio 97 Page 1
Sunderland Bridge, Croxdale
Richard Taylor, Head, Mar, 28, Ag Lab, Yorkshire Seamer
Ann Taylor, Wife, Mar 23, Durham Brancepeth
I think this is Ann Sewell and Richard Taylor married 1849 though.

Looks like whoever compiled that tree made the same mistake as I made above
Hi Hinton - can you provide the links to the info please

Looking for any information on my grandfather John Ambrose Taylor, born in Willington, Durham on 6 June 1897. He stated on some records that he was born in Leith, Scotland, despite the 1901 census saying he was born in Willington, Durham.
His parents were Dorothy Rogerson and John Taylor, both of Willington, Durham according to the census.
John Ambrose Taylor, migrated to Australia in 1924 and died here in Western Australia in 1967.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sandy
Unless you have a definite connection to Annette's family - this should be a separate post.
Posting unconnected information on another post can cause a lot of confusion

Hi Hinton
I have decided to have another look for my Margaret Taylor. The website you mentioned is one that I am very familiar with except that, at this stage, I think they have Margaret Taylor's information wrong. I have confirmed that a Margaret Taylor was born in Quarrington however her parent's surname was Local and in 1881 England Census Margaret was married/widowed as she has her mother Ann Taylor and her uncle John Local living with her.
Of course, there could be 2 Margaret Taylors born in Quarrington but, to date, I have only found one.
I am unable to go to the source of the website as he has passed away and there is no further information in his personal papers.
Thanks for your assistance.
