:) Hi all I am a new kid on the block, hope this is the right place? The above is a distant relative, according to the 1861 Scotland Census he was on board SS Cambria with his Wife Mary Ann, and son James. Cannot find any record of where he was going I am guessing New York? or when the ship Departed. In his own right he was a Master Mariner but I do not think he was on this particular Journey the Captain. Strangely he is recorded 0n 1871 English as being in the UK. Could anyone help please any info at all.
Thank you

I have a William Downie born 1786 Died 1866. His daughter died in Scotland 1870 in Wishaw. Could this be a connection? I have been trying to find our where he died. Maybe nothing.
