I've been looking for Norah McCann (thanks to the helpful people on this board, I know that she arrived in U.S. in 1929 from Sligo, Ireland-Born 1912) and her uncle Patrick McCann, living with his family in Union City, N.J., as of 1929. I have looked at Census on footnote.com but I can't find them. When Norah arrived in U.S. she went to stay with her uncle and his wife, but she may have moved on by the 1930 census. But where did Patrick go?
All help gratefully received ???

Would you know Patrick's date of birth, please?
Norah's immigration record shows Patrick's address as Union City, N.Y., however, after a quick search on the 1930 census, it does appear that Union City was in N.J. I've not found them yet.

Previous thread on this family: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,419253.msg2846772.html#msg2846772 For future reference, it is preferable to keep the questions about the same people in the same thread, so no one repeats work already done.

Sorry about that Shellyesq -since I had started that thread not knowing about Patrick McCann and since I was technically asking a different question, I thought I should start a new thread - I'll remember that advice for future, thanks :)
I don't know anything further about Patrick McCann I'm afraid - the info I received on here was the first time I heard about him! There is no mention of him on the 1901 census in Ireland so I would guess he was at least 16 or 17 by that time and therefore his date of birth would be mid 1880s or so?
Thanks for that merjones - thats a possibility alright - I'm learning that dates are not set in stone in genealogy!
Finally, my Dad has an idea that Norah died not long after she arrived in the U.S. - about 6/7 years after her arrival so 1936 or so - don't know whether that's true or not though.
Thanks again for all your help and sorry again shellyesq
