Looking for information on this Comerford family from 1911 Census, address was 19 Abercorn Terrace, Dublin. Census indicates Edwd & Mary Comerford had 10 children alive but only 8 on the 1911 census at this address. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
These children are first cousins to my aunt's father Alfred Bernard Comerford who was born and raised in New York.
Thanks -

the place to start is with the civil index - which is available at : http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#c=1408347;p=2;t=searchable this covers all birth, marriages & death registrations from 1864 to 1958.
I think the first step to take is to establish Mary's maiden name and the best way to do this is to order the birth cert for their youngest child - i.e. Alfred,. Luckily there is only one Alfred Comerford born in Dublin around the right time :
Name: Alfred Bernard Comerford
Registration district: Dublin South
Record type: Birth
Registration date - quarter and year: Apr - Jun 1906
Volume: 2 / Page: 611
This index entry also matches the middle name you already have for Alfred. The Dublin South registration district includes Kilmainham.
Assuming that Edward & Mary married in Dublin (Mary and all the children are born there) then there are two possible marriage entries around the right time
Name: Edward Comerford
Registration district: Dublin South
Record type: Marriage
quarter and year: Jul - Sep 1880
Volume: 2 / Page: 577
Name: Edward Comerford
Registration district: Dublin South
Record type: Marriage
quarter and year: Oct - Dec 1880
Volume: 2 / Page: 627
I'll see if there is an index cross match for either of these, but with a common name like Mary it may be difficult to locate. You can order certs from the GRO by post (http://www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm) using the index details listed above. These will give the full details.

Hi there!
I'm doing this tree for a girl I work with. She is descended from Ellen Christina Comerford, an older sister of Alfred B Comerford.
Her grandparents are Richard Cullen Junior and Rose Anne Lanigan.
Would love to hear from you!

Hi
I guess your Comerfords probably knew my Dancey family: in 1901 my Dancey family lived at 2/4 Tyrconnell Rd, which was a provisions shop run by Richard A Dancey my great grandfather. In 1911 (census) one of his daughthers Elizabeth (by then married to Robert Bryan who was a boiler maker), lived at 71 Tyrconnell Rd with Roberts father/siblings, & by Dec 1911 Elizabeth was living at 8 Abercorn Terrace Kilmainhaim.

Hi There. I have been reading these posts with interest, as I have recently started to put together my family tree. Edward Comerfors (of 19 Abercorn Terrace) was my Great-Grandfather. His son - Patrick Comerford was my Grandfather. He was born in 1895 and died on a Christmas Eve - 24/12/1966. He was married to a Josephine Reilly (B: 1896) and they lived in Ceannant Fort (or Mount Brown) in Dublin 8. My mother was their daughter, Rosaleen, who passed in 1997. Her youngest sister is Anne (who is 77yrs) and still with us. I think Anne and Doreen from the last post could be 1st. cousins???
