Hi
I wonder if anyone could tell me who was living in Minorea Place (don't have a number), Sunderland in the 1851 census. My g. grandad was living there in Feb 1851 when he married, but in the census his address had changed. I'm trying to find out if he was lodging there, or whether any of his family actually lived there.
I've tried searching on Ancestry but cannot find how to search for an address (??) and Findmypast haven't finished transcribing Co. Durham yet.
Any help would be much appreciated.

There are 18 households and even more surnames in Menorea in 1851. What surname (s) are you looking for?

Hi Alpine..
Thanks for replying so quick - I'm hoping to find a Sowlsby or Soulsby family.

Actually there were 4 pages of households in Minorea, I looked carefully at each name but there as nothing like Sowlsby or Soulsby. I will check using the names because the enumerator got the census pages in a muddle, so the household numbers aren't consecutive (ie there are some other streets in the middle of the Minorea entries) just to check I haven't missed anything.

There is a William Soulsby, 20 living at Silver St, Robert Sowlsby, 35 and wife Catherine at Thomas St, Margaret Sowlsby, 63 at Silver St (poss mother of William above but there's some problem with census sheets and they won't follow on) . All above are in Sunderland, there are other Soulsby/Sowlsby/Solsby in other towns or villages.
