How does William appear on 1841-1871 census when your topic heading states b 1895?????
You are asking for "any" information -yet state you have William on several census - could you be a little more specific on exactly what kind of information you require (to save duplicate look ups) and also give William's birthyear????

If you mean William Garrett b 1795 - his age varies from census to census
1851 puts his y.o.b.as 1794
1861 as 1792
1871 as 1790 -st martin place
Do I have the correct William???

IGI has - extracted
William Garrett
baptised 18 mar 1792 St Paul Norwich Norfolk
Parents Valentine Garrett & Sarah Pillar

Hi Suzard,
Sorry but all I have to go on is the census myself, I had no idea that my husbands family originated from Norwich and William was a shoemaker, sorry if I am asking to much, I hoped maybe someone that uses the Norfolk Records Office could check the baptism records for St Martin's.
Thanks

You are not asking too much - but you need to look at your original post and topic heading again
Have you made a typo in your heading??????
If the year in the topic heading is 1795 then where did you get the y.o.b. of 1795 from????
His y.o.b. varies from 1790-1794 on census
Most probably someone will be able to check baptism records for you if they have a clearer y.o.b. - You really did ought to modify the heading of your topic - and give a broader age range -otherwise the wrong William will be looked for - I am only guessing that the William I found on the census is the one you meant as his y.o.b. differs from census to census -and differs by over a hundred years to the William in your topic heading?????

The baptism that Suzard found at St Paul is almost certainly the correct one. St Paul was only a few hundred metres away from the church of St Martin at Palace. St Martin at Palace has had its baptisms added to the IGI up to 1812, in fact all the Norwich parishes except 5 have baptisms up to 1812 on the IGI.

:)Apologies for the mistake in the date and thank you for pointing in right direction. Can I please ask if someone would check for Valentine Garrett 1772 St Margaret's Norwich for siblings or parents.
Thank you

Have you had this information from IGI?
If so - treat with caution as it is a member submitted entry and there is no definate date of baptism
There is an extracted marriage record of Valentine's marriage to Sarah Pillar 8 Aug 1791 if you want to look that up

As far as I can see, it is an extracted entry from the St Pauls parish registers and it is also on Freereg, so I think it can be taken as reliable, born 14th, baptised 18th March 1792.
But perhaps you mean the baptism of Valentine?
-
Yes, sorry I see that is what you mean. St Margarets is one of the 5 parishes that haven't been added to the IGI, so you will need a look up to check this.

Thank you Suzard and Peggypatch, I have found quite a few siblings to William in different parish churches in Norwich if Valentine and Sarah are his parents?
Yes I have been using IGI, which was why I requested a look up fpr St Martins as I did not know much about the geography of Norwich churches but have now found a map.
So I am still requesting a look up on both William and Valentine on the information I have to point me in the right direction for when I can get through in the New Year as there do not seem to many Garrett's in Norfolk
Thank you for your help so far it is very welcome.
