Hi
If anyone has access to the burial registers at Selston, please could you help me to try and trace the following burials?
Joseph Clarke (born ca.1773) died between 1851 & 1861 at Selston
Elizabeth, his wife (born ca.1778) died between 1851 & 1861 at Selston
Richard Clarke (born ca.1733) died Selston (last child born in 1775).
Mary his wife (born 1734) died Selston also after 1775.
Any help with these would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
regards

Okay Mike, thank you very much for taking the time to look.
I wonder where-else, nearby, these people may have been buried? Do you have any suggestions please?

Hi again Mike
I just noticed your four burial entries only covered 4 years at Selston between 1813 & 1817. Please could you tell me the period that the register(s) goes up to?
Many Clarkes lived in Selston right up until the late 1800s. Joseph and Mary died between 1851 and 1861, so I am wondering if the register you referred to may not have covered this period.
Thanks again for your help.

Just did a test on the Notts FHS CD and sorry but didn't realise that it only covers Selston St Helen between 1813 to 1819 hence why there arn't any more.
For Info:
Selston St Helen burials took place from 1558-1931, St Mary (Westwood) took place from 1899-1981

Hi,
the CD's only cover burials 1813-1819 for Selston St Helens but Nottingham archives have burials records up to 1931 so I can have a look for you there hopefully on Friday

I too have queries on selston/westwood ancestors regarding the Clarke family.
Grandmother born in westwood 1903 - mary jane hughes.
mother was born Emily Clarke - born around 1870s- had a brother called John Clarke, unsure how many other siblings.
There was talk on ownership of land to do with mining there - very sketchy.
