Title: Doherty, Dogherty. O'Doherty
Post by: Sharon-Lee on Sunday 08 November 09 23:15 GMT (UK)
Hi I am just starting to research a Thomas Doherty that was born in Tipperary, Ireland approximately 1843. Thomas is believed that he may have come from a family of several children and his parents were John and Margaret.
I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction as to where it is best to start my search. Thanking you. Sharon-Lee.

Hello,
I too have a Thomas O'Doherty from County Tipperary in my family - specifically the Golden, Thomastown area. Is this similar to yours? I have dates of birth of Thomas Jun 1853 but am unsure of father Thomas' birthdate. He was married to Mary Slattery and two of the children (so far I've found) migrated to Australia - one being my great grandmother Ellen.
hoping there's a connection,
louiseanne
