Hi,
I seem to be searching, without much luck, for any existing photos of All Saint's Church which was located on Great Nelson Street, Liverpool.
It was demolished in the early 1960's as part of the mass clearance of the Scotland Road area.
Might anyone have any photos, or know of any available of this church please?
Regards
Paul

There is no photo in 'Churches of Liverpool', a comprehensive book by David Lewis and as he had access to the Liverpool Record Office collection, I fear there is little chance, except via private channels such as this.

Have you tried the central library in Liverpool (known as The Picton). They have a huge selection of local photo's in their archives, you may be lucky. http://archive.liverpool.gov.uk/dserve.exe?&dsqIni=Dserve.ini&dsqApp=Archive&dsqCmd=show.tcl&dsqDb=Catalog&dsqPos=157&dsqSearch=((text)='everton')
I'm sure you've seen this already:
All Saints, Great Nelson St., Liverpool Central, L5 3LE
All Saints is located at OS Grid Reference - SJ 350916
Est 1847-1961, now demolished and merged with St Ambrose

And see Mike Royden's pages, he's a local historian and may be able to help locate one

Thanks Ainslie and Ann,
I have checked the Record Office previously, and am aware that there seem to be very few photos. I recall there being one on the 'Scottie Press' website, but it's quality is not particularly good ie. the church is not the focus of the photo, and is therefore incomplete.
I will check out Mike's website as suggested.
Many thanks
Paul

Just thought of somewhere else to try
http://www.scottiepress.org/
Great Nelson street is in the vicinity of Scotland Road and these people have collected a huge amount of information on the area.

Ha! Snap, we must have posted together.
If Scottie Press didn't have one, try putting a message on the Merseyside Genealogy forum

Ha, Cheers Ann.
Scottie Press don't appear to have one, having tried a couple of searches, so I'll try the forum you've suggested too!

Hi Jubily, welcome to Rootschat :)
The marriage records for All Saint's Church are available to view at Liverpool Record Office, and are filed under:

PS. For info, Baptisms are under 283/ALS/2 and range from 1849-1937

Hello Paul
Did you ever find a photo/picture of All Saints Church?
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,
Funny you ask with this thread being so old, but I did, and literally only a couple of weeks ago, having pretty much given up hope of finding one.
It's not a photo, it's an etching, and is more of a street scene, however, as a result, the church can be seen (from that angle) in its entirety.
The image can be found on the GENUKI Church Database, however for some reason, right now, the search engine is not bringing All Saints up.
