Hi I am new to this and wish to trace Hetheringtons who emmigrated from Teesdale to Canada/USA at turn of last century (circa 1900).
I know that some settled in North Dakota and Humboldt IOWA.
My mother was in touch until 1959 - lost interest when my father died but would like to know now.
I believe that ther was a big fanfare at Middleton in Teedale railway station.
Help please
David Stewart.

Is there a specific question we can help you with? Maybe someone out there can answer anything that you may have questions about.

Hi David, since your new to this, you should know that you need to provide a few more specifics in order for someone to help you.
I ran "Hetherington" -- lots of hits! It is not an uncommon name. Many in North Dakota, a couple in Humboldt County, Iowa including several in Dakota City, Humboldt Co., Iowa. In these areas only a few came up as English born. However, in other parts of the US, many were born in England.
Do you have any specific names, approximate birthdates? Any other information for family lore?
