Some time ago I contacted the 1911 customer support team to ask if I could use their site as I am a Mac user. The answer came that they don't support Macs but from past experience they knew the browser Firefox worked on Macs. Can any Mac user tell me if this is correct? I would like to take out a subscription but am wary in case I waste my money.
Thanks,
Jennie

Internet Explorer is designed by Microsoft and only works on the Windows operating system because Microsoft also have created the Windows platform. Microsoft do not believe any other platform except Windows should exist.
Nearly all other web browsers are cross-platform and therefore Firefox works on Mac and Linux. Many Mac users use the Safari web browser by default but you can use Firefox as well.
I imagine the only reason you are having problems is because a plug-in is required to view images? The actual 1911 website is just a standard HTML website but in order to view images, a viewer such as DJ Viewer is required.

Thanks Downside
I wasn't having any problems because I hadn't actually been on the 1911 site. :-)) Having had a Mac for many years I know how difficult it is to use a lot of sites and usually have to try several browsers to see which works the best for a particular site and even then I usually find I often have problems.
Last night I took out a subscription with Find My Past/1911 and using Firefox the only problems I have experienced so far have been with the search facility when I have to clear the search box every time because it won't let me delete and just type in another date etc, which is tedious, and also my activity monitor is showing terrific strain and my computer 'screams' at me sometimes which shows Firefox is not completely compatible but these things I have become used to over the years.
Thanks again,
Jennie
