Title: Martha Cutbush - Linton/Maidstone - Baptism and possibly marriage
Post by: britboy1966 on Monday 26 October 09 23:59 GMT (UK)
Hi

I understand the Cutbush name was popular in the Linton area.  I am trying to find records of the baptism/Birth of a Martha Cutbush possibly around 1765-70.

She married an Edward Jarvis and their first child (Amelia Ann) was born in 1787.  It appears  Amelia was baptised at All Saints in Maidstone but I have the family living most of their life in Yalding.  I am also hoping to find a record of their marriage.

Any help would as always be appreciated.

Matt

Linton baptisms 1681-1878 are on the IGI.

www.familysearch.org

The only baptism for a Martha CUTBUSH that comes up was baptised 20 November 1763, parents Henry & Anne, at Maidstone.

Thankyou

I had a look on the IGI and I also cannot find any other baptisms for this pair OR a marriage.  There is an Edward Jarvis that married a Martha Fryland in Chatham 1782 but nothing else close.

Do you have any ideas on how I can chase down more information on Edward?  I cant find him on the early census :(

Cheers

Matt

Hi Matt

Can I just ask your source/reasoning for thinking that Martha's maiden name was CUTBUSH?

Casalguidi :)
