Hi trenance,
A big welcome to Rootschat.
You can find Thomas Hoytes Matthews on this site. For the cemetery, use the drop down box and the cemetery you want is Waikaraka.

Hi again, :)
If you want to order the death certificate, go to our BDM site. Ordering the "Printout" usually gives more information.

It's our 30th Anniversary next year, hence the visit to NZ. Perhaps I can find out what made him move there sometime.

If someone can do 2 Death Notice lookups, they should lead to current family....

There’s a probate at Auckland for Jessie:

Hi, thanks very much to everyone for your time and effort.
I think I've got enough to be going on with for now!!
I'd already found a marriage in Truro thanks, didn't think there could be too many Thomas Hoyte Matthews around!
It'd be interesting to know what made them go to NZ from Newquay, Cornwall (better surf?)
Fabulous coastline and countryside where we live in UK but what is appealing about NZ is only 4 million population. Hope to be there Nov next year.
Thanks again.

Hi there
Hope you had a good day at work :-)
So you follow William Edmunds line ? born in Newquay 1833.
I have him marrying Alice ? and they had two boys. I guess one of them is your grandfather.
Does alot of the family still live in Newquay?
Regards
Kim
