Cant find Elizabeth Wyatt(granddaughter (2 on 1851)or henry in 1861?
Neither of them are with grandparents in 1861 or 1871
1861 Joseph and Ellen had son Cephas U 30. Mary Ann daugh, Ellen daugh21 and Joseph 18 son living with them.
Wonder what the Tagg connection is?
1871 Joseph and Ellen had 7 yr old grandaughter Mary H Tagg with them (among others)
1881 Ann Tagg 8 was a boarder with Henry and Mary
1891 Charles Tagg 21 was a boarder with Henry and Mary
Do you want full census of Joseph and Ellen Wyatt in 1861/71
-
Thank you Alli and Suzard.
I very much appreciate this excellant information.
I am satisfied that grandchildren Henry and Elizabeth were children of Dorothy.Henry finally resurfaced 1901 at 11 Sik St Glossop with his family having married Mary Ellen Travis. He was a shepherd.I still don't know what became of him over the years.
I have determined that Elizabeth, granddaughter of Joseph and Ellen, married William Cottrill 1876 in Stockport.
Dorothy had several children before marrying William Charnock 1867 (as advised).I don't know when he died but Dorothy was a widow by 1891.Likewise her daughter Abigail had several children before she married William Greenwood. They became his stepchildren.
Lucy Ellen Wyatt married an Edward Poxon and it is my guess that grandchildren Hannah and Thomas Poxen, would have been children of Lucy Ellen and Edward Poxon.
Ellen Wyatt bC1839 married 1862 Glossop,Samuel Tagg from Ashford,so I am assuming that the Tagg grandchildren with Joseph and Ellen in 1871,and with Henry and Mary in 1881 and 1891 were children of Ellen and Samuel.
I would appreciate the full census for Joseph and Ellen Wyatt in 1861/1871 when convenient.
I greatly appreciate your splendid effort.

Phew.
This is really extending the tree.
I need to do some work here before coming back to you again.
Even the name Bowden sounds familiar, perhaps only as friends or neighbours.
I think Henry travelled around a bit as a shepherd.I have a photo of him when he was living in Glossop.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Thank you Suz.
I would like to refer this to a Tagg contact who might like to consider this data.We have spoken about the possibility that White might be Wyatt and Charles his son.
Henry Wyatt married Mary Ellen Travis 1901 March Qtr and had numerous children. In 1901 they were at 11 Silk St Glossop. No sign of a Charles.
I will come back to you.

Also noticed RG11/3457 20 88 I have entered twice- once as 1881, once as 1891-but I hope you have noticed that by the RG number-blaming it on the weather -nothing to do with a senior moment!!!!!

Hi I am interested in the Thorpe connection. My research has a Ruth Thorpe and Isaac Middleton married 3 Nov 1813 daughter Mary Middleton and son John Middleton. Mary married John Booker from Ughill, Bradfield, Sheffield.
I am looking for the records from Derwent during the 1780 - 1827. These link with a charlesworth, Booker, Middleton in New Zealand
cheers

Hello Kiwi
Can you please expand a little on the Thorpe connection.
My principal interest is Wyatt but with a Tagg connection.Obviously you have noticed a possible Thorpe connection arising from my earlier postings.I would like to investigate further.Hi I am interested in the Thorpe connection. Hi
not a great more detail - Hope woodland / Derwent and with a connection with Hathersage as the children were registered in both hope and Hathersage. Sorry
-
Did you know that Ruth and Isaac appear to have had at least 5 children over the years 1814-1821 asa per the IGI.I had noticed Hathersage Derwent and Hope.
Do you recognise any of the Thorp(e) names mentioned in the earlier postings. My interest is mainly Wyatt and Tagg but there must also be a Thorp(e) connection somewhere.
Are you familiar with the legend of Joe Tagg and his dog Tip?
Joe was living with a Thorpe when he died.
-
Hi no sorry, I have no more information - except that the derwent was the focus and when that was flooded later the cemetery was moved. Every body from the cemetery was labelled and documented and removed to another cemetery.
