I have had a look with no luck.

It would help if you knew his date and or place of birth.

All I have is his name on daughters marriage certificate which took place Saint Johns at Reedham, the daughter could be living with parents but probably was in service

She is Elizabeth Bennett born app 1823. Her father was living at Saint Clements Norwich.

I would like to find if she had any siblings also her mothers name

Sorry all I had was publican on his daughters wedding certificate, if the last answer was right he changed from a school master in 1841 to a publican in 1843, is that likely?

Are you sure he was a publican in Norwich?

There is the following Henry Bennett who was a publican in Norfolk in 1841 (Whittington is, however, a long way from Norwich):

1841 Census
The Chequers, Whittington, Northwold, Norfolk
HO 107, Piece 774, Book 11, Folio 32, Page2
Henry Bennett     35     Publican
Sarah                   27
Joseph                 15
Mary                     10
Susan                   6
Jane                      4
Harriet                  2
All were born in Norfolk.

If I've found the right family in 1851 - John Brooks, wife Elizabeth and 4 children in Norwich - this states that Elizabeth was bc.1825/6 Norwich.

FreeReg shows:

Elizabeth Bennett b.29/6/1825, bp.3/7/1825 St. James with Pockthorpe, Norwich, dau. of Henry Bennett, Collar and Harness Maker, and wife Elizabeth Smith.

Other children were James 1818, Henry Batriabas 1820, Sophia 1822 and Mary 1827.

A Collar and Harness Maker often operated out of a public house yard and Henry may have progress to being a Publican this way.   However, I'm surprised that you know her father was living at St. Clements, Norwich at the time of the marriage.   Normally the only details of the father on a marriage certificate are name and occupation.

I made a mistake with Saint Clements, it was where daughter Elizabeth was living at time of marriage

The Wittington pub is too early as Elizabeth was only app 23 at the time, according to wedding cert

That leaves either of the other 2 pubs, and I think I shall check the IGI as it is St Clements, so easy to check

Many thanks for all the help
