Hi
I'm new to all this but was wondering if anyone could help. Basically I have managed to trace my ancestors back to around 1750 as follows:
Gilbert Rabb or Robb born c1750 & married Agnes or nancy McCreight around 1780 in Straidhavern, Killead Antrim. Would love to have more info, such as date of birth/death or who Gilbert's parents were. Would appreciate any help
regards

Hi
Just a few suggestions you might already have come across
Try Glenavyhistory.com it covers Killead and is a very good website, the following comes straight from that site
The following names can be found today on the headstones in the grounds of this church: (Preb. Church)
McCraight
Robb
Robb, Straidhavern
Robb, Tully
Robertson, Ballygomartin
Also the 1851 Census is worth a look at as Killead is one of the few areas were records from 1851 still exist, just google 1851 Census Killead
I tired to get access to Chuch of Ireland records for Killead but I was told that the Orginals are now in PRONI.

Many thanks for your assistance, I have actually emailed the church to see if they would be able to shed more light on the names of the headstones. Haven't heard anything as yet, but still keeping my fingers crossed.
