Title: Difficulties getting subscription to 1911 Census
Post by: BoHedley on Wednesday 21 October 09 10:24 BST (UK)
As I belong to Ancestry (and they do not include the 1911 Census!)  I want to take out a single 'stand alone' subscription to the Find My Past 1911 Census.

But how to do it is a complete mystery.   If you go on the FindMyPast website it informs you that you may take out a years subscription to 1911  at   £59.95.  When you click on 'Purchase Subscription'  there is no sign or link to this single 1911Census sub.

I have sent two emails with no reply - has anyone else managed to do this - am I missing a link somewhere.

Can anyone help because FindMyPast certainly do not want to!!!

That is the stand alone sub

From their Blog

Subscriptions to the 1911 Census on findmypast.com will be available as two packages:

12 months ‘1911′ subscription: £59.95 - the equivalent of viewing 15 transcripts and images using PayAsYouGo credits.
6 months ‘1911′ subscription: £39.95 - the equivalent of viewing 10 transcripts and images using PayAsYouGo credits.

The 1911 Census will be available as a subscription on findmypast.com no later than October 21st - to receive updates on the launch date, make sure you have opted in to receive newsletters from findmypast.com.
Maybe they're just late sorting it out

Thanks for replies Iria and Madpants.

The link Iria posted informs you of the the £59.95 sub. then when you try to purchase they only provide the linked subscription - nomention of the stand alone option.

Just phoned FindMyPast and they say you can get a stand alone sub.  I tried again on the site and I still cannot find a way to do it.
