Title: Conducting 20th century research - help please?
Post by: CoastalPlains on Friday 16 October 09 13:53 BST (UK)
Hi all,

I have hit a brick wall trying to find out what happened to Rosabella Charlotte May Sutton (nee Storey).  She was born in Norfolk in 1882, and I know of her whereabouts until 1944, but I can't find anything after that.

She was known as Rosa in her marriage record (1903) and May in the 1911 census, but searching all combinations of her names has not found anything on Ancestry or Google.

What is the best way to research more recent events?  I would really appreciate some advice on resources.

Thank you :)

Hi

I am sure that this:http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/36402/pages/1036/page.pdf is one of the last sightings that you have of her.

Must have lost her husband and inlaws in the bombings or another deathful accident all died on the same day in 1941.

And you have probably done all the following:

.

Robyn

Hi Robyn,

Thank you - yes that is the last mention of her that I have found, she lost her husband, 2 sons and her daughter-in-law when a pub was bombed.

I haven't checked the electoral rolls, I didn't realise you could do that. I'll definitely try that, thank you.
